Aston Villa are now top of the Champions League phase table after three games.

Unai Emery’s Aston Villa continues their Champions League success with 3 wins, 0 goals conceded defeating Young Boys, Bologna and Bayern, ending Bayern’s unbeaten run in 41 Champions League group stage matches showcasing their dominance in European football.

They have become the first team this season to win three Champions League games, while maintaining three clean sheets becoming the third team to do so after Malaga in 2012/13, and Leicester 2016/17.

Since the rebranding of the Champions League from European Cup in 1992, Aston Villa have not featured amongst Europe Elites making their appearance this season the first for the Club since then.

The teams success extends to their domestic league following the arrival of Unia Emery two years ago from Villarreal.

They’ve had their best start to a Premier League campaign this season after 8 games since 1998/99. They are currently 4th in the Premier League with 17 points.

Aston Villa were hovering above the relegation zone when Unia Emery first arrived at the club, but now top of the Champions League.
