HOW IT ALL STARTED

The past is trying to give me more joy than the present and it’s scary.

Give me one reason I smile at how we started and frown at our present being.

Do you still find it enjoyable? I mean, how the whole thing is moving.

Losing our bond, distance is our excuse.

We never complained about the kilometres apart,is there something I need to know?

At first it was about age difference. We weighed and felt it’s good.

We cry and laugh yet we were cool.

The fund we lost, the connections we got, little were we bothered about the cost.

Tell me how we learnt those things forgetting to learn how to forgive.

My eyes are wet,my heart is heavy still I’m going to live.

They said one day we’ll compare ourselves with what revolves around us.Gradually we allow those tenses become reality.

Guess what, grandma said if we lose our friendship there’s a calamity.

All I do is preserve my identity

Yet you don’t view it as humility.

It’s painful that instead of looking for a way out,we settled for blame game.

For a little while, tears may last longer than shame.

But what about the pain?

Are we ready to unite or bow to grandma’s cane?
