Vinicius completes Madrid comeback in a 5:2 win over Dortmund

Real Madrid pulled another massive comeback in the match-day three of the UEFA Champions League, after hosting Dortmund at the Bernabeu in a match that seemed to look more like a recap of the 2023/2024 Champions League Final which Dortmund lost.

More like the previous finals, Dortmund had a great start to the first half, or rather 4 minutes, scoring in the 30th and 34th minute of the match. Donny Mallen and Jamie Gittens, gave the visitors the lead in the first half.

Real Madrid did not give up, however and crushed the guests in the second half, scoring 5 goals. Rudiger started the comeback after converting a good cross from Mbappe in the 60th min.

Lucas Vazquez gave the home side the lead in the 83th min, after Vini Jnr. equalizer that came earlier in the 62nd min.

Vinicius Jnr. then stole the show with a heartbreaking hat-trick in the 86th and 90+3 mins, leading Real Madrid stunning comeback victory over Dortmund. He has now scored 4 goals in last two games vs Dortmund. He now has 21 Champions League goals in 38 games.

He was awarded Man of the Match for his outstanding performance, and took the ball home for his hat-trick. Not to mention that he’ll receive his first Ballon d’Or in six days. He will be the youngest player (24) to receive the award since after Messi in 2009.
